Qualifications and Experience    

​

Andrew was born and bred in the Lancashire/Yorkshire border town of
Todmorden. He was educated in the North West, where he later established an
award-winning Murder Mystery company, and presented daily afternoon
programmes for regional radio.
Andrew then went on to become General Manager of national and international
touring theatre company, Horse + Bamboo, after which became Executive
Director and Chief Executive of Blackfriars Arts Centre in Boston, Lincolnshire. In
2005, Andrew became General Manager of The Palace Theatre in Manchester;
moving on from there to lead Sunderland Empire and Liverpool Empire Theatre,
hosting number one touring productions such as Chitty Chitty Bang Bang,
Mamma Mia and Mary Poppins.
Continuing his career with Ambassador Theatre Group (ATG), Andrew went on to
enjoy a national role leading and supporting some of the UK’s most prestigious
venues, from Edinburgh Playhouse to Liverpool Empire, and Bristol Hippodrome.
Andrew is now Director of ATG’s London and West End
Theatres, and is delighted to lead this group of prestigious venues, including the
Lyceum and Apollo Victoria.
For GODA, Andrew has adjudicated one-act and full-length drama festivals, and
has also supported speech and drama events. Andrew has adjudicated weekend
and week-long engagements, and has thoroughly enjoyed festivals both on the
mainland UK, and in Ireland and the Isle of Mann.
